Medical support for people affected by Cyclone Remal

Satkhira and Khulna are the southernmost districts of southwest Bangladesh. Geographically, the Sundarbans is bordered by two rivers in the south, and in the west, it is adjacent to the Koikhali Union of Shyamnagar Upazila in Satkhira district. Another upazila in the area is Koyra, with the Sundarbans on both sides.

This revision clarifies the geography and relationships between the locations mentioned.

Koikhali Union and Bedkashi Union of Koira were damaged by Cyclone Remal, which recently hit Bangladesh. Health problems have also emerged alongside visible damage. The people of these two unions have to travel about thirty kilometers from the upazila town to access medical services.

Low-income people find it difficult to travel far to see a doctor or buy medicine. Thousands of patients received medical care and free medicines at a day-long medical camp held in Shoilkhali, Koikhali, and on October 5 in North Bedkashi, Koyra. The camp was conducted by 16 doctors under the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Alliance (SEDA), funded by Abundance of Good Inc. USA.
