Katerina Karefyllaki Visit to Our Sundarbans Branch School

We were truly honoured to welcome Miss Katerina Karefyllaki, a philanthropist from Greece, to one of our school branches located in the southern part of Bangladesh.

Our organisation currently operates four education branches, working to provide learning opportunities for children from vulnerable communities. This particular school is uniquely situated beside the Sundarbans, the world’s largest mangrove forest an area of remarkable natural beauty where access to quality education remains limited.

Miss Katerina’s visit brought great joy and inspiration to our students. They warmly welcomed her and enthusiastically engaged in conversations and activities, creating a meaningful exchange for both the students and our team. Her interaction with learners and educators highlighted the importance of compassion, cultural connection, and global solidarity in education.

We are deeply grateful to Miss Katerina Karefyllaki for taking the time to visit our Sundarbans branch school and for her kindness and support. Her presence was truly encouraging and left a lasting positive impact on everyone involved.

SEDA Housing Project for Flood-Affected Families

In a significant milestone for flood recovery efforts in Bangladesh, the Socio Economic Development Alliance (SEDA) has completed House under its humanitarian initiative titled “Education Aid for O A KA KHA School & Construction of Houses for Flood-Affected Areas.”

The house, constructed in a flood-affected region, is part of a broader commitment to provide safe, permanent housing to families who lost their homes due to repeated climate-induced disasters. The project not only focuses on shelter but also integrates educational support through the O A KA KHA School network.

“This isn’t just about walls and roofs,” a SEDA representative stated. “It’s about restoring dignity, security, and opportunity to families who have endured great loss due to natural calamities.”

Project Highlights:

  • 🔹 Construction of permanent housing units for displaced families
  • 🔹 Provision of educational aid to underprivileged children
  • 🔹 Strengthening community resilience in climate-vulnerable regions

The initiative is financed by ABUNDANCE OF GOOD, INC and implemented by SEDA, a community-focused nonprofit committed to grassroots development and climate adaptation solutions.
