SEDA Housing Project for Flood-Affected Families

In a significant milestone for flood recovery efforts in Bangladesh, the Socio Economic Development Alliance (SEDA) has completed House under its humanitarian initiative titled “Education Aid for O A KA KHA School & Construction of Houses for Flood-Affected Areas.”

The house, constructed in a flood-affected region, is part of a broader commitment to provide safe, permanent housing to families who lost their homes due to repeated climate-induced disasters. The project not only focuses on shelter but also integrates educational support through the O A KA KHA School network.

“This isn’t just about walls and roofs,” a SEDA representative stated. “It’s about restoring dignity, security, and opportunity to families who have endured great loss due to natural calamities.”

Coastal Activists Raise Their Voices in Global Climate Strike

Global Climate Strike 2025: Coastal Youth Raise Voice for Climate Justice in Shyamnagar

As part of the Global Climate Strike 2025, youth activists in Shyamnagar took to the streets in front of the Shyamnagar Press Club to highlight the urgent climate crisis and vulnerabilities faced by Bangladesh’s coastal communities.

Organized by Coastal Youth Network, YouthNet Global, Socio Economic Development Alliance (SEDA), CoastalAid, and Fridays for Future, the strike demanded an immediate halt to fossil fuel investments in the country. Protesters called for a shift towards a renewable energy-based national power plan, aligning with the vision of a sustainable and just “New Bangladesh.”

Holding placards and chanting slogans, the youth emphasized the need for climate justice and urged national and global leaders to take bold action to protect the coastal regions of Bangladesh from the escalating impacts of climate change.
