5. Project Objective
The objective of this project was to support climate-vulnerable children and affected families in Bangladesh by ensuring access to education, providing nutrition support, and offering safe shelter assistance to families affected by climate change impacts.
The project aimed to:
- Support children’s education in climate-affected areas
- Improve nutritional conditions of vulnerable children and families
- Provide shelter support to poor and disaster-affected households
- Enhance resilience among climate-vulnerable communities
6. Project Background
Bangladesh is highly vulnerable to the adverse impacts of climate change, particularly in coastal and disaster-prone regions. Climate-related disasters such as cyclones, tidal surges, flooding, and salinity intrusion severely affect children’s education, nutrition, and family shelter conditions.
Many children in affected communities face interruptions in education, malnutrition, and unsafe living conditions due to recurring climate shocks. To address these urgent challenges, this project was undertaken to provide integrated humanitarian and development support.
7. Activities Implemented
Under this project, the following activities were successfully implemented:
a) Educational Support for Climate-Vulnerable Children
Educational assistance was provided to children in climate-affected areas to ensure continuity of learning and improve access to educational resources.
b) Nutrition Support Distribution
Nutritious food support was distributed among vulnerable children and affected families to improve health and nutritional wellbeing.
c) Shelter Support for Affected Families
Housing support was provided to poor and climate-affected families through the distribution and construction of shelters to ensure safer living conditions.

9. Project Outcomes
The project achieved the following outcomes:

10. Compliance and Documentation Status
- The audit report has been submitted and accepted by the NGO Affairs Bureau.
- The project completion report has been submitted.
- The certification from the local administration has been submitted.
11. Conclusion
The Education for the Climate Vulnerable Children, Nutrition Support and Shelter for the Families in Bangladesh project was successfully implemented with financial support from Abundance of Good Inc. USA and executed by Socio Economic Development Alliance.
The project made a significant contribution to improving education, nutrition, and shelter conditions for climate-vulnerable children and disadvantaged families in Bangladesh. It demonstrated an effective integrated response to climate-related humanitarian challenges and created a positive impact on the resilience and wellbeing of targeted communities.
The successful completion of this project highlights the importance of continuing similar interventions for climate-affected populations across Bangladesh.
