5. Project Objective
The objective of this project was to support underprivileged children living in slum communities by improving their access to education and reducing educational deprivation caused by poverty.
The project aimed to:
- Increase educational access for slum children
- Reduce school dropout rates among disadvantaged children
- Encourage regular school attendance
- Promote educational development among marginalized urban communities
6. Project Background
Children living in slum areas often face severe socio-economic challenges that prevent them from accessing quality education. In Niribili Slum, Savar, Dhaka, many children are deprived of educational opportunities due to extreme poverty, lack of learning materials, and limited family resources.
As a result, many children remain out of school or are at high risk of dropping out. To address these challenges, this project was initiated to support educational advancement and ensure continued learning opportunities for slum children.

The project was implemented in:
- Niribili Slum, Savar, Dhaka
8. Activities Implemented
Under this project, the following activities were carried out:
a) Educational Support Distribution
Educational assistance and learning materials were provided to underprivileged children to facilitate their studies.
b) School Participation Support
Support was provided to encourage children’s regular participation in school and classroom activities.
c) Community Awareness Initiatives
Awareness-building activities were conducted with families and community members to emphasize the importance of education for children’s future development.

10. Project Outcomes
The project achieved the following outcomes:

12. Conclusion
The Education Support for Slum Children project was successfully implemented with financial support from UK Online Giving Foundation and executed by Socio Economic Development Alliance.
The project made a meaningful contribution to improving educational access for disadvantaged children living in urban slum communities. It helped reduce educational inequality and promoted a stronger foundation for the future development of marginalized children.
The successful completion of this initiative highlights the importance of continued educational support programs for vulnerable children in urban poverty-stricken areas across Bangladesh.
